Our Story

The African Network for Women in STEM (ANWiSTEM) was founded with a bold vision—to create an Africa where women in STEM are celebrated, well-represented, and empowered to lead. We saw the challenges: the gender gap in STEM fields, limited mentorship opportunities, and systemic barriers holding women back. But we also saw the incredible potential of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to drive innovation and shape the future.

ANWiSTEM was born to bridge this gap. We are more than just a network—we are a movement dedicated to dismantling barriers, fostering leadership, and building a thriving community of women in STEM across Africa. Through mentorship, advocacy, skills development, and strategic partnerships, we are creating pathways for women to excel in STEM careers, contribute to groundbreaking research, and inspire the next generation of female leaders.
